Beach Week

We had a week at the beach with my family. It was so nice to get away as a family and take a break from life! Carter was interested in the beach. I wouldn't say he loved it, but he observed and took it all in. He did love the pool! Carter used this week to learn some new skills, which was nice because we were all there to witness them. He pulls up well, but tried letting go of whatever he was holding on to for a few seconds and loves cruising along furniture, people, and whatever else he can hold on to. He mastered "stoop and recover" (mom's child development terminology). He started mimicing waving bye bye. It looks more like he is waving to himself and watching his hand intently rather than waving back at you, but we'll take it.
The three of us went to Southport for lunch. Carter has found birds and loves watching them. That's what he spent most of his time doing on the beach...watching birds.

Nana made frozen mango yogurt. Carter LOVED it! Later that week Dad had an ice cream cone. He was determined to get some. Lunging at it with his mouth wide open ready to take a bite.
Every year at the beach we have a theme dinner with the other families. This year was pajama night. So of course we had yummy breakfast food and PJs! Bye Bye Beach!
